My Teaching Philosophy:

Each student has a unique personality and, likewise, unique motivations, learning styles and skill sets. I recognize the potential in each of my students and cultivate their abilities by identifying and reinforcing good playing habits. Lesson plans are tailored to each individual based on goals that we establish together, but the foundation of this process is always tone quality, pitch, rhythm and musical expression. While focusing on the physical aspects of playing the instrument, we will also work on the mental challenge of creating musical ideas.

 

Rock Creek Music Studio also offers group workshops, practice sessions and recitals. These events are important parts of the learning process and benefit the students by giving them performing experience and a peer group from which to gain inspiration.
